False positive in the virus definition files

The virus database files, which were published on Thursday detected a file from the Realtek sound card driver package falsely as malware.

We would like to inform our users, that the virus database published on Thursday contained a false positive, which resulted in the detection of alcmtr.exe, which can be found in Realtek's sound card driver package as malware, although this file does not affect the operation of the sound card.
The fixed database was published shortly afterwards on Friday, but customers, who downloaded the faulty database and the product falsely identified the file afterwards before receiving the fixed update may have lost alcmtr.exe.
This file does not affect the operation of the sound card, it is used by Realtek to gather information from users' computers but if this file is missing the sound card's driver cannot be updated. In this case, we suggest reinstalling the latest version of the driver package from the manufacturer's website, which will solve the problem.
